FCPS Policy

Due to the cumulative learning loss of students during this pandemic and in order to  maximize instructional time , FCPS will implement virtual learning for day 6 and beyond  in which school buildings are closed due to inclement weather.  The first 5 inclement weather days were traditional inclement weather days.  Following that, FCPS will utilize flexibility provided by the General Assembly to have unscheduled virtual learning days, wherever possible.  Virtual Learning on these days will be synchronous instruction following the Inclement Weather Virtual Learning Day Schedule (includes a 2 hour delay).

Technology Readiness Steps for Students- At Home

1. Log onto your laptop with your Student ID and password.
2. Connect your laptop to your internet connection.
3. Login to Google account. In Chrome, go to www.fcpsschools.net, sign in with your fcpsschools.net account.
4. Log into Schoology. Make sure you can access your courses.
5. If you have any issues with these steps from home, go to the Tech Support for Families page, to submit a ticket for support.

How to Log-in to Virtual Learning from Home

Students will not receive individual class links via email from all teachers. Instead, students will need to log into their courses in Schoology. In order to simplify class link organization, all virtual class Zoom links are accessible from inside the student course in Schoology.  Students will:

1. Log into Schoology
2. Navigate to the course they are attending
3. Click the Zoom button on the left
4. Click Join to join the Zoom session

• 10:30am- 12:00 Instructional Block

• 12:00- 12:30- Lunch Time

• 12:30 - 2:15 Instructional Block

• 2:15 - 2:45 Asynchronous Specials

• 2:45 - 3:15 Recess
